A couple of French imports here with Grade 1 entries and MANITOPARK AA may prove best on her first outing for Willie Mullins. The Walk In The Park filly won five from six on the level in her native land and has an engagement in the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas. Also entered in that same race is the Henry de Bromhead-trained Gloire D'athon. The Doctor Dino gelding now races in the Cheveley Park colours having won a French bumper on his sole outing in October 2019. Magic Tricks shaped with promise on his 'track' debut when fourth at Punchestown in late October and looks another to note on his hurdling debut.

MINELLA ESCAPE can gain compensation having fallen when looking set to collect on his 'track' debut at Punchestown in late September. He had asserted early in the straight then only to tip up at the second last. The son of Beat Hollow had cost 100,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point in the spring and was sent off a short price on his hurdling debut. Grangeclare Native looks the obvious danger after being narrowly denied here last month. He went down by a head to Joshua Webb over course and distance and a similar effort should see him heavily involved again. Eden Flight chased home Braeside when last seen at Fairyhouse in January and has to be respected given his connections. He may need to step up again from that run, however.

FORGED IN FIRE could be the one to beat on his jumping debut. The form of his bumper win at December last Christmas obviously reads particularly well given that he beat Cheltenham hero Ferny Hollow that day. A change of tactics after that probably brought improved form from the runner-up but it was still a big effort to beat a rival of that class on his debut and he looks an exciting prospect now over jumps. Clondaw Secret is very interesting on his 'track' debut having won a point-to-point almost a year ago that has worked out particularly well. The runner-up Champagne Gold won at Wexford recently while the fourth horse Minella Escape looks to have a big shout in the preceding race today. Genois ran a nice race to finish third here on debut and looks another to consider in a hot contest.

SHATTERED LOVE could be very nicely treated here on her return to hurdling. The dual Grade 1 winning chaser is rated 16lb lower back over the smaller obstacles and also has Gavin Brouder taking a further valuable 7lb off her back. She comes into this in winning form having taken a mares chase in fine style at Clonmel last month. Willie Mullins runs seven in a valuable contest and it's interesting that Paul Townend takes the ride on Sayo. He slipped up on the Flat when last seen at Listowel but had been impressive over timber previously at Kilbeggan. He was left on the same mark after that easy win in a conditions event and could be nicely treated back in handicap company. Another Mullins horse that could make an impression is Low Sun. He hasn't been seen since finishing fourth in the Chester Cup back in May 2019 but was an improver on the level and in comparison could still be on a nice mark over jumps.

Gigginstown House Stud are well represented here with three runners, two of which are trained by Gordon Elliott. Joseph O'Brien and Jessica Harrington also have dual representation but for many this will be all about THE BIG GETAWAY as he makes his debut over racecourse fences. In the dual Gold Cup winning colours of Marie Donnelly, chase debuts for Asterion Forlonge and Shishkin went along expected lines last month and more of the same will be expected now from The Big Getaway. He won his point-to-point at Horse And Jockey for Donnchadh Doyle in March 2018 and has two track successes under his belt for current connections. The selection finished third behind Envoi Allen in the Ballymore at Cheltenham when last seen. Chasing ought to be his true vocation though, and the likes of Conflated, Exit Poll, Opposites Attract and Sempo are others for the shortlist.

J P McManus and Gigginstown House Stud have this to themselves. Gigginstown have the numbers with Cavalry Master and Embittered doing battle for them, but McManus could have the last laugh with his Gordon Elliott handled runner, ANDY DUFRESNE looking strong. This observer happened to be present when the Doyen gelding won his point-to-point at Borris House in March 2018. He was then in the ownership of Camilla Sharples. However McManus wasn't long about stepping in for the attractive gelding. A Grade Two winning novice hurdler since, Andy Dufresne made a winning start over racecourse fences at Wexford in October. The local hope won his maiden hurdle at this venue and he can see off Embittered. He put in a pleasing first outing over the larger obstacles at this track and trip when second to Easywork 27 days back. Embittered can come on from that to at least shake up Andy Dufresne.

Gigginstown had the numerical advantage in the previous heat but it's three each for the County Westmeath based powerhouse and J P McManus here. Gordon Elliott trains two of the maroon and white clad contenders, with Jack Kennedy on Elwood and Gavin Brouder on Gun Digger. Whatever way it's viewed this looks seriously competitive, and still it's difficult to get one's mind away from CHATHAM STREET LAD. Since returning from a 463 day break in October Mick Winters has done a great job in securing two wins from three outings with his Beneficial gelding. He didn't always impress with his fencing at Cork last time, but the eight-year-old appears to be on a real upward curve. Two and a half miles is a bit of a question, and the assessor isn't making it easy for him either. However Chatham Street Lad is taken to come up with the answers again. The selection finished behind Pakens Rock at Galway and that handicap chase first timer is another that can have a say.

Ballycairn has gone from Jamie Sloan to Gordon Elliott, Champagne Rebel from Roisin Hickey to Steve Mahon, and KILCRUIT from Tony, to his brother Willie Mullins, since they were all seen in public last. Bred, and owned by Maureen Mullins when running at Clonmel, expectations were strong for Kilcruit when he debuted in the last race before lockdown, on March 24th. At Powerstown Park he found Closutton's Captain Kangaroo too strong, when the betting and riding arrangements pointed in a different direction. Since snapped up by the Mastersons, Kilcruit can put the experience gained then, to good use now, as he drops in trip, again with Patrick Mullins up top. Each-way cases can be built for a few others as well.
