Cathal Byrnes has enjoyed plenty of success so far this month and ALPINE COBRA can be another winner for him. The conditions of this race are tailor-made for the Scorpion gelding who, although only managing to win a maiden, ran well in the face of some very stiff tasks over hurdles. He has garnered a nice bit of experience over fences and should be all the better for his comeback fifth at Wexford when friendless in the market. Roi De Dubai hasn't been seen since finishing a good second on chase debut at the same track in August, but this three-time winner over hurdles went close, after a long absence, on seasonal debut last term and is very much respected. Another returning from a lay-off is La Tektor, who ran well in a very competitive rated chase at Galway last year, while Zoffalee was ridden to pick up the pieces at Limerick last time but a literal reading of that form would bring him into the equation. Forged In Fire has been bitterly disappointing since beating Ferny Hollow in a bumper and can only be watched on his first start over fences.
