RIVIERE D'ETEL has hardly put a foot wrong in winning all three chase starts this term. The daughter of Martaline was particularly impressive when slamming Cape Gentleman in a Grade 2 at Punchestown last month and again jumped well from the front when following up in a Grade 3 at Navan. Ferny Hollow is a high-class rival. He won the Cheltenham Festival Bumper in 2020 and beat none other than Bob Olinger on his only hurdle start at Gowran Park. The Westerner gelding was absent for over a year until making a successful switch to fences at Punchestown, beating Coeur Sublime, a Grade 2 winner over hurdles, by an ultimately comfortable four lengths. The concession of 13lb to the slick jumping selection may prove a tough task. Gallant John Joe has been placed behind some smart types but reappears after a lengthy layoff.
