Flat White will have learned plenty from her hurdling debut against her own sex when a promising second at Uttoxeter, and commands a great deal of respect now running against juveniles. However, she might have to play second fiddle to FIRST IMPRESSION, as he sets the standard on his two runs at the course and this represents a drop in class following his fifth in the Wensleydale. Ranco has had wind surgery since his jumping bow at Southwell and it might help him leave that form well behind.

All of these have claims but marginal preference is for THE MULCAIR, who accounted for a decent rival when winning impressively on his Rules debut over hurdles at Southwell a year ago. The six-year-old then disappointed in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham but something was clearly amiss with him on that occasion and he may benefit from a wind op in recent months. Geordie B is entitled to improve for his recent comeback run at Carlisle, while Born By The Sea should put his jumping experience to good use.

The 133-rated SOARING GLORY was unfortunate to bump into an exciting prospect when trying to defy a penalty at Newbury last time and the son of Fame And Glory is the one they all have to beat. Gemirande failed to fire on his UK debut but he showed plenty of ability in France and it is far too soon to be writing him off. Rory And Me won two bumpers in 2019 and he should not be discounted.

Her point-to-point form wouldn't by anywhere near as flashy, but she shaped with tons of promise when runner-up in a Taunton bumper and could prove tough to reel in if given another positive ride. Billams Legacy completes the shortlist representing the stable that won this race in 2014 and 2017.
