Oliver Greenall attributed the improved form of Zalvados to the reapplication of blinkers (worn with a tongue-tie again here) when the gelding hacked up over this trip at Doncaster and a 7lb rise may not be enough to halt him if he's in the same form. A repeat effort is no guarantee, though, and while Solar Impulse showed the desire is still there when runner-up over the extended 2m here latest, the veteran has seen better days and preference is for OSCAR ROBERTSON.
