Roydmoor was not disgraced last time and a 1lb drop puts him on the same mark as when beaten less than a length at Redcar, while Koropick has also been dropped 1lb despite getting within a length of the winner at Thirsk last time. Denzil's Laughing is very well treated if finding his best form, but preference is for RORY. Jim Goldie's gelding won well here two starts ago and recovered from a sluggish start to take third off this mark at Musselburgh last time. He looks in fine form at present.

Motahassen is beginning to look well handicapped on his old form and if the rain arrives, his chance can only improve. However, AYR EMPRESS ran well when runner-up to Euro Implosion at Hamilton over a furlong further last month and, dropped in class off the same mark, her chance is there for all to see. Hildenley looks interesting stepping up in trip after his Newcastle third and if the tongue-tie brings any improvement, he could also get involved in the finish.

Dream With Me has the credentials to return to his best after a couple of below-par efforts, having won twice over course and distance earlier in the year. Platinumcard scored on his handicap bow at the track last month and is capable of another bold bid having only gone up 1lb, but a chance is taken with KOLISI. The son of Harzand was progressing nicely until racing too keenly on his first try over 1m 4f at Goodwood on his latest outing and the drop back in trip is likely to see him bounce back.

RIBALDRY can get off the mark at the third time of asking after bumping into smart sorts the last twice. The well-bred daughter of Ribchester is fancied to hold off the challenge of recent C&D winner Chelsea Annie, who carries a 3lb penalty for that success. Miss Calculation is also interesting dropping in grade having won nicely on debut, while of the newcomers, Merlin's Lady is certainly one to note, being a sister to multiple Group winners.

Asmund has been running well in defeat of late and could go well, while Motawaazy is another who has been in fine form and has two wins and four placed efforts in his last six starts. Motarajel and Distinction also have claims of exploiting falling marks, but at the other end of the handicap RETIREMENT BECKONS catches the eye. A good winner over a mile at Hamilton last time, Linda Perratt's gelding has been raised just 2lb and could be a major player.

GWEEDORE won at the course on his penultimate outing and backed that performance up when finishing third at Musselburgh on Friday. The step back up to a mile is unlikely to be an issue for the four-year-old, who is capable of getting his head back in front. Ventura Rascal won a claimer on his most recent outing at Catterick and he is capable of a decent showing along with Corndavon Lad, whose consistency warrants him a place on the shortlist.
