Victory Echo won well over 2m at Newcastle when last seen in December but a 7lb rise for that victory will make his life tougher today. With that in mind, preference is for REIVERS LAD, who still had a big chance prior to falling five out at Haydock last time. That was his first start since 2018 and the 10-year-old is likely to improve, although he will obviously have to put in a better round of jumping. Ardera Cross has won twice at this venue, including over 2m5f in January, and he cannot be discounted.
