TRUE HERO raced a bit too freely when just losing out in his bid for a hat-trick over C&D earlier in the month but he remains in good order and there are still races to be won with him off his present mark. Fellow C&D winner Qaaraat raced to a similar level of form when a runner-up on his last visit here and rates an obvious danger along with the hat-trick seeking Brandy Station,albeit after an 11lb hike.

Andrew Balding appears to hold the key to this race and, unless there is a market move for his newcomer Winterwatch, it's hard to get away from his other runner MONEYKENNY following an encouraging reappearance in decent company at Windsor last week. David O'Meara's Toutatis failed to build on some promising bumper form on his Flat debut at Beverley but a switch to fibresand and the introduction of cheekpieces may see him in a better light.

A mile on this punishing track seemed further than DABIRSTAR wanted to go last time out but he had previously pushed subsequent dual scorer Nelson Gay all the way over this C&D and a reproduction of that effort may be good enough to oblige in this company. The fact that four-time runner-up Driftwood couldn't oblige at long odds-on last time makes him one to be wary of, and Kath's Toyboy looks a bigger danger with Richard Hughes' yard going well, providing he takes to Fibresand.

JOIN FORCES took a step in the right direction when runner-up over 7f at Kempton in January and is expected to build on that performance and find the improvement needed to score. Dream Composer has shown ability in France and is worth a market check now debuting for a new stable, while Piselli Molli appears to going the right way for Sir Mark Prescott and could similarly finish on the premises.

Charlie D and Ravenscar could also give good accounts in an open-looking heat.

STARTER FOR TEN didn't shape at all badly when fourth at Newcastle four weeks ago and has a bit of course form here that entitles him to respect for Ivan Furtado. The four-year-old was third in this grade here two starts ago and, off the same mark from a low draw, is fancied to take this now back over a mile. Maykir ran well when fourth in better company last month and Richard Kingscote is a notable jockey booking, while recent track winner Holiday Magic is also taken seriously.
