Unless Charlie Appleby's newcomer Pulcheria, a half-sister to a two-year-old winner over this trip, or Tom Dascombe's 40,000 pounds purchase Lady Valentine are particularly useful sorts then this looks an ideal opportunity for MADAME AMBASSADOR. Mark Johnston's filly got within a neck of success at Haydock and though that was on heavy ground, the daughter of Churchill may prove effective on a sounder surface and put her experience to good use. Ladymac showed little on debut and needs to produce more before she is worthy of note.

VISIBILITY appeared to find some form when second over this course and distance last time and could go one better off the same mark in this contest. Scott Dixon's gelding could be given most to think about by Fred, who won at Brighton before tackling much hotter company at Goodwood last time. Blackheath shaped as though the return to this trip would suit when plugging on for fifth at Doncaster last time and is another to consider.

Deep Impression had legitimate excuses when never a factor at Wolverhampton last time and her form before that makes the Mark Johnston filly the one to beat here. Embolden was beaten less than a length in a course-and-distance seller last time and has to be considered, while Silent Partner has the assistance of William Buick following a respectable, if not exceptional, first appearance on the Flat in December last year.

LEGENDARY DAY built on his reappearance second when taking advantage of the same mark at Nottingham last time and could add further success. He was far from stopping at the finish of that contest, pulling well clear of the opposition, and that suggests a 7lb rise can be tackled with confidence here. Top Of The Pops was a winner over course and distance on debut and could better his effort at Ripon in April. Stablemate State Of Bliss could only finish third on his first start of the season, but the form of that race looks strong and he may also take a step forward here.

The Tony Carroll-trained five-year-old has the slight doubt of dropping back to the minimum trip, but looks poised to give a good account with Mollie Phillips claiming 7lb in the saddle. Cool Spirit won with something in hand at Musselburgh last time out and holds every chance despite being raised 8lb. Atyaaf recorded the third win of his career at Bath eight days ago and could get competitive off 5lb higher.
