The suggestion is A DISTANT PLACE, who was somewhat unlucky not to break the maiden in this sphere last season. Runner-up behind subsequent winners on his last two starts, the six-year-old is taken to overcome a 333-day absence and get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. The Plimsoll Line shaped encouragingly on his hurdles bow earlier in the month at Chepstow and he looks to be the chief threat. Chanceux and Brandy Cove are others to consider.

A trappy contest in which the improving KINGSTON KING gets the vote following a career-best effort over hurdles recently at Ffos Las when second. David Rees' charge can exploit a lowly handicap mark, which is 8lb below his chase mark of 82. Master Tradesman has been unlucky to bump into progressive types the last twice and he can be expected to be in the mix again here. City Never Sleeps could improve for the step up in trip, while The Late Legend cannot be underestimated either.

Great Heart'jac left his previous form behind when running a cracker at Chepstow earlier in the month behind a smart sort of Paul Nicholls'. He is likely to be favourite on his hurdles debut, though he may have his work cut out fending off the challenge of Irish import BELIEVE JACK, who was last seen finishing runner-up at Tipperary in May. The recent form of the Olly Murphy stable is another plus, while newcomers Latent Heat and Helix are also of some interest.

DO IT FOR THY SEN was really getting the hang of things over fences when last seen in May, posting back-to-back wins at Southwell, and the style of his latest success was particularly impressive. The seven-year-old is upped in grade on his reappearance but may be capable of continuing on an upward trajectory, with the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Kilpin tipped to give him most to do, having shaped well on his return from a wind operation at Chepstow last month. Winds Of Fire showed progressive form over hurdles and is worthy of respect now switching to fences.
