First-time blinkers may well bring about improved efforts from both the recent Leicester second Missile, who was only beaten a head, and Sir Mark Prescott's Jebel Dukhan, who tried to make the running at Hamilton before hitting the rail while looking a difficult ride. The interesting one is Saeed bin Suroor's NATURAL COLOUR, who was outpaced over shorter at Nottingham before running on late when failing to get a clear run. This step up in trip may be just what she needs for her handicap debut to be a winning one.

The market may tell the story about the chances of the unraced Ideal Guest, who looks the part on paper as a son of Shalaa and representing the in-form George Margarson stable. Baileys Liberty showed improved form when second at Ripon and won't shirk a battle, but SASSY RASCAL was heavily backed ahead of her Bath debut three weeks ago. She started slowly that day before running on into second. The daughter of Mehmas can only improve for that experience and with Jamie Spencer on board, she could recoup those losses here.

El Picaro may head the market after his second places at Lingfield and Wetherby this year, but he may have to make the running in this field, leaving him vulnerable to be picked off late on. Imagine Freedom won't need to be special to get involved on debut but preference is for BAKE, a beaten favourite at Ascot last September and gelded since. Bred to be better as a three-year-old his fitness has to be taken on trust but he looks to have the most potential.

NOORBAN has been in good form recently and she once again caught the eye when third at Doncaster last time, meeting trouble in running for the second run in succession. She may be able to make amends on her return to 6f, with the John Gosden-trained Emperor Spirit also making plenty of appeal now dropping in trip, having shown up well for a long way in the Britannia at Royal Ascot last time. Mejthaam promised more than the bare performance would indicate last time and may also be capable of stepping up.
