In a wide-open contest, marginal preference is for AMIR KABIR, who made a very encouraging return to action when finishing third at Newbury. A 1lb rise for that effort is fair and he will be suited by any cut in the ground. Hms President was a bit disappointing in the Spring Cup, but he showed plenty of ability last season and it is far too soon to be writing him off. Hawridge Storm and Leroy Leroy are closely matched having fought out the finish of a race over C&D last month.

Beautiful Sunshine was a disappointing favourite on her debut at Newmarket, but it would be no surprise to see her take a big step forward with that experience now under her belt. Any market support for Rattling, Profound Alexander or Bouquetsandbubbles would have to be noted.

Oh This Is Us was successful in the Paradise Stakes at Ascot a couple of weeks ago and he merits respect once again, although the 3lb penalty he has to carry is a slight concern. With that in mind, preference is for STORMY ANTARCTIC, who made an encouraging return to action at Kempton. The veteran finished second in a Group 1 in France last year and he is more than capable of scoring at this level. All of the remainder have claims, but Solid Stone is arguably the pick of them.

REMEDIUM's comeback second at Nottingham was pleasing enough at the time, but it looks so much better now after the winner rocketed into the Derby picture when scoring in the trial at Lingfield. The three immediately behind Richard Hannon's gelding have all performed with credit since, so his form is strong. Zuraig showed some ability on his Newbury debut and will come forward from it, as will Aurora Star from his Lingfield introduction.

Beauty Stone has been freshened up since February's Kempton brace, and Lady Pendragon has been given even longer off after her Lingfield double towards the end of 2020. Their hat-trick ambitions may be thwarted by ATACAMENA, who has picked up plenty of minor money in novice company and now goes handicapping off a nice mark. Not too much separated Nellie Moon and Secret Shadow when they took minor honours at Kempton, and the other two can't be ruled out with any sort of confidence either.
