The booking of Hollie Doyle could well prove the key to getting BORN TO SIRE off the mark at the 23rd time of asking, having gone close the last twice, including over C&D. Essgee Nics hinted at a return to the winner's enclosure when third at Chelmsford earlier in the month, and his record here is another major plus. Beau Geste is another likely to be thereabouts along with the unexposed Little Hercules, who is open to improvement.

Surrey Territories is bound to be popular here thanks to a 3lb pull at the weights with the reopposing STORM ASSET, who beat the aforementioned rival by a length when they met over this trip at Lingfield earlier in the month. Michael Wigham's charge is taken to come out on top again at a track that favours those who race prominently. Sandie's Dream is likely to enter the reckoning as well if building on a career-best effort at Southwell recently, while Isobel Moore is another to note.

The form of MAJOR GATSBY's most recent third at Lingfield has been well franked by both the second and fifth winning since, and this represents an ideal opportunity for the three-year-old to break the maiden at the 10th time of asking. With the step back up in trip expected to suit, he can master the likes of Joanie's Girl, who ran with credit on her handicap debut at Lingfield, and Splendid Isolation, who arrives with a similar profile. Becoming and Cozican cannot be ruled out either.

ESSENCIAL stepped up when winning on his handicap debut at Lingfield last time, making up significant ground in the straight and having something in hand at the line. Further improvement may be forthcoming and the son of Awtaad can edge out My Dubawi, who also justified market support when scoring at Kempton on his latest outing and he overcame some trouble in running. Kennet should prove better suited by this trip and cannot be ruled out either.

The four-year-old White Willow stepped up when finishing a close second at Newcastle last time, pulling well clear with the winner, and the daughter of New Bay should make another bold bid. However, she may have to settle for minor honours behind CHORUS SONG, who made a promising start to her career when a running-on third at this track last month and looks a likely improver. Sous Les Etoiles showed inexperience when third on her debut at Chelmsford and is another to note.

The progressive Vaxholm looks the one to beat if taking up this entry (also declared here on Saturday) but, in the event that he sidesteps this race, the last-time-out Lingfield scorer MIDGETONAMISSION may prove the best option. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor posted a career-best effort when getting off the mark at the Surrey track that day and is favoured ahead of Art Expert, who can offer more with the blinkers removed. Dashing To You drops in grade and should also prove competitive.
