Creative Control took a step forward when third at Bangor-on-Dee and he rates the most immediate danger, while Ask The Doc is another to consider.

OBEY THE RULES arrives in good form and, despite failing to justify favouritism at Ludlow last time out, the six-year-old may be able to make amends in this contest. Although Six One Nine has been rather inconsistent of late, he demands the utmost respect at a venue he performs well at. Deerfoot has been dropped 3lb for his recent effort and that mark may underestimate his ability.

Kevin Ryan does not have many runners in this sphere, and SPIRITOFTHENORTH looks a potentially exciting prospect over hurdles. He showed plenty of promise on his first start over timber at this venue in October and has since had a wind operation, suggesting that he is likely to take a step forward from that performance. Kendancer is the most experienced contender and a reproduction of the form that saw him win at Ballinrobe in August would give him a live chance, but he has disappointed on his two subsequent starts. Findthetime is another to note after an encouraging display at Carlisle last time.
