DARGIANNINI was an impressive bumper winner here in October and a step up in trip could return him to winning ways having bumped into a useful operator when sent off favourite for his hurdling bow over two miles at Aintree. The extra yardage could also suit Kelso third Malpas, who shaped with encouragement for a long way on that occasion. The market may provide the best guide regarding the chances of Rebecca Menzies' trio, Amma Lord, Fernhill Dane and You Some Boy.

WHO'S IN THE BOX has been in top form this season and wasn't beaten far when trying to follow up his Lincolnshire National win at at Catterick last time. He almost defied a career-high rating of 115 there and is only 2lb higher this time, with the slightly sounder surface likely to suit. The Lion Dancer bounced back to his best with an impressive 10-length success in the Chepstow mud last month and has to be taken seriously, while there was little to separate course winners Brian Boranha and Rock On Fruity when they finished third and fifth respectively in the Durham National in October and both are respected here.

TOMORROW'S ANGEL, who was fourth when sent off favourite over 2m5f here on her penultimate start, enjoyed the move up to three miles when second at Newcastle last time and this marathon test could play to her strengths as she makes her debut for Tristan Davidson. Espoir Moriviere was bitterly disappointing when heading the market at Wetherby over Christmas, but is foolish to rule out having gone close off just a 2lb lower mark at Hexham before that. Buster Edwards, 10lb lower than his most recent victory, and Achill Road Boy both look to have been given a chance by the assessor and are others to note.

MR MULDOON led briefly before running out of steam in the closing stages over three miles at Ascot last time and having won over slightly shorter than this trip here previously, Richard Newland's gelding can get swiftly back to winning ways. Flowery struck on his latest visit to this track but struggled last time and remains 5lb higher than that latest winning mark, while Raecius Felix is just 3lb higher than when successful here in October. The Paddy Pie should be happier back up in trip after losing a shoe and being outpaced over shorter at Wetherby latest.

The return to Sedgefield could spark an upturn in fortunes for River Frost, who won over fences in the summer and ran respectably over timber here after that. His two runs since have been poor, though, so perhaps it's best to side with ANOTHER THEATRE. Just 1lb higher than when second at Newcastle over this sort of trip three starts ago, Philip Kirby's mare had excuses for her poor effort over timber at Newbury and evidently didn't enjoy the all-weather experience in a jumpers' bumper latest. This test looks much more suitable for her. The Some Dance Kid seemed to show some form last time and is another to note.
