A number have questions to answer in this race and it may prove best to focus on ROLLING DYLAN, who performed respectably in a higher grade when finishing second at Aintree in October. The six-year-old Bali Body has more scope than his rivals and should make a bold bid, while the Paul Nicholls-trained Sending Love is fancied to build on his comeback run at this track last month.

Those with hurdling experience may hold the upper hand in this contest, with the Harry Fry-trained FOREVER BLESSED setting the standard after his impressive debut win at Ffos Las in October. The gelded son of Zoffany may not require any improvement in order to maintain his unbeaten record and is favoured ahead of Romeo's Bond, who had plenty in hand when scoring at Exeter on his first start over hurdles. Many Words should benefit from his initial effort over obstacles at Ludlow last month and can prove next best.

Few can be ruled out in this event and narrow preference is for the Nicky Henderson-trained BOTHWELL BRIDGE, who was considered good enough to contest a Grade 1 over hurdles at Aintree in April. Returning after a wind operation, the six-year-old can get off the mark at the first attempt over fences and edge out Champagne Well, who scored over hurdles at Plumpton last time and remains unexposed over the larger obstacles. Halo Des Obeaux represents Paul Nicholls and is another to consider as he makes his chasing debut.

Brave Kingdom could not have won any easier on his hurdling debut at Chepstow and appears to be an exciting prospect for Paul Nicholls. He is a big player, but FAIR FRONTIERES gets the vote after a dominating display at Worcester on his first start for Kim Bailey. The six-year-old takes a drop in trip and could prove hard to catch if allowed an easy lead. The progressive Lossiemouth comes here in a bid to land a hat-trick of victories having been impressive on his handicap bow at Ffos Las.

One True King bounced back to form with a good second at Ffos Las last time and he could be a leading contender if building on that performance. However, OUT ON THE TEAR might be well handicapped after just four starts over fences and is entitled to come on for his first run of the season when fourth at Worcester. That run looks decent form in the context of this race, with the runner-up winning at Newbury last week, while Admiral's Sunset has disappointed on his last two starts, but he is no forlorn hope if recapturing the form shown prior to those runs.

Al Dancer is an interesting contender as he returns to hurdling, after disappointing over fences in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham last month, and it would be no surprise to see him make an impact. The stable's other representative, William Henry, was last seen finishing down the field in the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle and he could be dangerous back in a handicap. However, PILEON seemed to have recaptured his form when finishing fourth on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree and the son of Yeats, who was dropped 1lb for that performance, is open to improvement following that effort.
