CASA LOUPI finished second behind a smart dual-purpose type at Ascot last month and could go one better in this weaker contest for Gary Moore. He was rated 30lb inferior to that winner on the level and probably did well to get as close as he did. Golden Boy Grey was successful on his hurdling bow at Sandown in December before struggling at Newbury under a penalty a few weeks later, while Funky Sensation might prove good enough for third.

Notre Pari looks the pick of the JP McManus-owned pair after his Doncaster third over the festive period and is seemingly the choice of Aidan Coleman. The Mulcair was unsuited by a tactical race at Hereford last month and wears a first-time tongue-tie under a 3lb claimer, but this can go the way of recent Exeter scorer FRANCKY DU BERLAIS. Peter Bowen's charge had been knocking on the door for a while prior to that success and a 5lb rise might not be enough to prevent the follow up.

Three wins from six starts since the tongue-tie was fitted, Philip Hobbs' charge can go in again at the main expense of Ferrobin, a two-time distance winner, and Finnegan's Garden.
