TOMORROW MYSTERY was beginning to get her act together over obstacles when last seen in this sphere, winning two on the bounce and impressing at Fontwell in May 2019. She returned from over 500 days off the track with an encouraging third on the Flat at Bath last month and could pick up from where she left off over hurdles, with handler Paul Nicholls in top form. Playa Blanca extended his winning run to four at Kelso on his reappearance last month and a 4lb rise might not be enough to stop him figuring here. Neff will find this easier than the Betfair Hurdle he contested over course and distance in February and is interesting following wind surgery, while Coole Well and Zamani are others with claims.

SOARING GLORY backed up the promise he showed in bumpers when pouncing late to deny the well-regarded Bravemansgame at Chepstow and Jonjo O'Neill's speedy five-year-old could mark himself out as one to follow by enhancing his reputation here. Amarillo Sky changed hands for 280,000 pounds following an eye-catching win in a Borris House point in March and looks a smart prospect, but the form of the Colin Tizzard string tempers enthusiasm. Therefore, the best of the rest could well be Nicky Henderson's newcomer Dusart, who is a half-brother to the stable's dual-Cheltenham Festival winner Simonsig. Olly Murphy's No Risk Des Flos is also noted on his hurdles bow having finished third in a Carlisle bumper last month.

The Big Breakaway was twice a comfortable winner over hurdles last season before tasting defeat for the first time when fourth in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. He looks tailor-made for fences and is an exciting recruit to the novice chase ranks. However, some of the Colin Tizzard string have looked in real need of their opening run in the early stages of the season and therefore it may be worth taking a chance on Paul Webber's HOUSE ISLAND. A winner of a Listed bumper here in the early part of his career, he was placed in Graded company over hurdles last winter before running better than the result may suggest in a hot renewal of the Albert Bartlett. He was bought to be a chaser and could come to the boil over the larger obstacles this season. Nicky Henderson won this last season with Champ and his It Sure Is can't be ignored, while One For The Team returned with a respectable third in the Persian War at Chepstow and has a fine record at this venue.

GRAN LUNA got the better of the handy Whiskey Lullaby when landing a bumper here in February and Nicky Henderson's four-year-old rates as the one to beat here on her hurdles debut. The form of that bumper has been well advertised by the second and third recently and she represents a team who have plenty of success at this track. Will Victory is unbeaten over timber and is an interesting recruit from France for Charlie Mann, while there was plenty to like about the way Sei Bella kept on well to win at Exeter last month but she does need to prove she can be just as effective with cut in the ground.

Jonjo O'Neill also saddles Present Chief, who has gone from strength to strength since being upped to staying distances recently, with Sammylou and Dell' Arca also arriving in good form. There isn't a great deal of form to go on here, but ORBYS LEGEND shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up between the flags at Knockmullen House in February and has since been bought for 80,000 pounds. The son of Milan has joined top trainer Philip Hobbs and, with the benefit of some racing experience under his belt, is fancied to play a leading role. There are a whole host of interesting newcomers from powerful stables in opposition, Mr Glass, Fine Casting and Fletch to name a few, and the betting market may prove a good guide to their chances.
