All have claims in this, but preference is for LIVING LEGEND. Charlie and Mark Johnston's charge was only beaten a length into third at Chelmsford last time and could defy top weight with a similar level of performance.

Diderot was impressive on his debut for James Ferguson at Chelmsford, but the former Ger Lyons inmate has been hit with an 8lb rise for that success, so MOBASHR gets the vote. Marco Botti's charge has won both starts over this track and trip, including when successful in a hot handicap here on New Year's Eve. A 2lb rise for that win looks fair and he could progress enough to defy that hike. Shoot To Kill has won his last two in gutsy fashion and has to be of interest, while Lequinto and Keyser Soze are others who have claims.

The inaugural running of this race and a competitive field lines up, with the eye drawn immediately to the highly-progressive UMM HURAIR, who was barely tested when racking up three wins at Wolverhampton last month. The daughter of Awtaad may end up proving even better than a handicapper and, with Ryan Moore taking over the steering, she can get her new training partnership off to the perfect start. Viola continued her improvement when scoring at Southwell last time and should make a bold bid, while Timeless Soul is unexposed at this trip and may also figure.
