ASH HILL relished the switch to the larger obstacles when being beaten a short-head by a well-fancied favourite at Perth a fortnight ago. If reproducing that level of form, the Lucinda Russell-trained seven-year-old gets the vote to record his first victory over fences off the same mark. Ming Dynasty has been edging towards that elusive victory and merits consideration off a workable mark of 125. Recent Revelations makes the trip over the Irish Sea and must be respected off bottom weight.

Hitman Fred may prove happier coming back slightly in distance after his most recent effort at Cartmel and he is respected along with Path To Freedom, who finished ahead of Rose Dobbin's gelding when fourth in that contest.

GROZNI won a bumper at Market Rasen on his third outing under Rules having been sent over from Ireland by Denis Hogan and the five-year-old is of considerable interest now switched to hurdles. The Bomber Liston displayed signs of inexperience on both his bumper outings last autumn but he is likely to benefit from the step up in trip on his first attempt in this discipline, while Lanty Slea was no match for an easy winner at Kelso last month but he is capable of taking another step forward on is third run over timber.
