MOLLYS GLORY was quite useful in bumpers and ran well on jumps debut at Downpatrick in August. Runner-up at Listed level in bumpers, she was well held by the winner at Downpatrick but shaped as though she would improve jumping-wise from the run and today receives a useful amount of weight from some of her rivals. Frontier General, a four year old, won on point-to-point debut for Pat Doyle at Dromahane in May and has since joined Henry De Bromhead (who purchased him as a 3yo for E20,000). The form of his point win is as yet unproven but he is a is a half-brother to four winners and is out of a triple-bumper winning mare. Chicago Time has been beaten a nose and short-head when runner-up on his last two starts and while he has obvious claims, gives away plenty weight. Family Business was well beaten in this series' Final last October but had previously shown plenty promise and could run well despite a 354 days absence. Coconut Tudor, 95-rated Alexhardwill and Babylon Beach are useful but need to improve to win.

KINGSTON RETREAT showed improve form when stepping to 2m5f and winning at 40/1 at Downpatrick recently and more progression is possible. She showed moderate form prior to Downpatrick but did beat two fairly able types into second and third then and while well beaten in point-to-points as a young filly, could now be well suited by staying trips. Perfect Attitude won despite being badly hampered and racing green on jumps debut at Clonmel and could also improve for a step up to three miles. Useful in bumpers, he returned from a 179 days break to win at Clonmel and while not impressive, there is room for improvement. Stablemate Fakir D'alene is proven at this distance and while he is no star and was disappointing at Galway in July, did finish 14L ahead of The Dara Man then, with The Dara Man now 7lbs worse off. The Dara Man was a useful third in a Limerick Listed race last Sunday, narrowly beating Sweet Street into fourth and both are vulnerable to more capable types. Dedanann and Brooks Falls are closely matched but need to improve to win.

LORD GILYGOOLEY is a big chasing type who might cope with a 9lbs hike for winning at Clonmel, under top weight today. Progressive, his recent form has been consistent and is very much proven at this trip and on good ground. Mullaghmore Wave, also by Scorpion, has been similarly progressive and while she has obvious claims, is 7lbs higher than when winning a lesser race at Downpatrick. Ruler Of Dubai was second to the selection at Clonmel and while he might find a few too strong, has solid place claims. Oskar High disappointed at Killarney but had previously shown good winning form at this level while stablemate Not So Simple is also proven in this grade and wasn't beat far at Tipperary latest. She'stherightone returned to form when second at Down Royal 51 days ago and is a dual winner.

KASHI is a hopeful pick having shown promise on handicap hurdle debut at Naas when last seen in March. He showed ability, without winning, in nine runs on the flat in Britain last year and while well beaten in his maiden hurdle runs, ran well at Naas and looks the type who can win from his rating, with good ground and this extra 2m3f trip to suit. An Marcach has won just once in 20 starts but is rated 15lbs higher over fences. He hasn't run over hurdles since February 2020 and while he can win from his mark, might ideally prefer easier ground. Bryan Cooper rides Appian Way and while winless in 19 starts, has some useful placed form to his name and was second at Gowran recently. Fleurys Fort beat No Way Pedro to win at Clonmel last month but was well beaten since. More Wine Lilly was fifth in that Clonmel race and is open to improvement, that being her handicap debut.

All three of these were Listowel festival chase winners last month with BLEU BERRY, winner of the 2018 Coral Cup at Cheltenham, likely to take beating. A smart type, BLEU BERRY seems to have retained his old ability and is well suited by this trip and good ground. Coach Carter won on his chase debut in Kerry and while he is younger than BLEU BERRY and thus open to far more improvement, was a lesser hurdler and might find the selection too good. Busselton receives 10lbs as a 4yo and while he also won Feale-side, was well held in third in a Tipperary Grade 3 subsequently and might struggle to win.

POSEIDON blundered and unseated rider at halfway at Listowel last month but had previously shown smart chase form and makes his handicap debut from a fair rating. A Grade B-winning hurdler, he was rated 139 in that sphere last winter and while his jumping in a handicap is a small concern, he is nicely treated from 130 with trip and ground in his favour. Admirable mare Bridge Native is 5lbs higher than when winning at Galway latest and has obvious claims under a different 5lbs claimer while another fine servant Abbey Magic was a Galway festival winner in July and while she won this race last year, is rated 11lbs higher and shoulders top weight. The West's Awake, unplaced in the Galway Plate, is capable at this level and while second in a similar race at Killarney latest, would ideally prefer slightly further. One Down ran well on chase debut but was well held at Listowel and makes his handicap chase debut rated 125, 5lbs higher than his current hurdles mark.

JOHNNY CIGAR had his supporters when winning at 18/1 at Listowel, with the form receiving notable boosts since. He showed big improvement at Listowel, with the runner-up, fourth and seventh-placed horses all winning races subsequently, suggesting JOHNNY CIGAR is capable of defying a winners' penalty as he steps up in trip. Copper Nation has shown consistently good form in three lifetime runs and is an obvious danger. She won nicely, making all at Tipperary and while the step up in trip may suit being a point-to-point winner, her winning bumper form is yet to be tested. It is a possible negative to see Lahinch Three run in a first-time tongue-tie and while capable, has been well held in two winners' bumpers this summer. Another Choice, placed in a point-to-point, ran well on bumper debut at Listowel and could be suited by this 2m3f trip, with Jamie Codd booked. Suain Na Draiocht has shown a tendency to hang left (notable on debut) in his two races todate and while he stayed on to good affect at Listowel, could be best watched in this winners' race, going right-handed.
