May Blossom hasn't kicked on from her 5f win here in April but may do better over an extra furlong, though she still looks vulnerable to the likes of Almohandesah and GENTLE ELLEN, who each finished a runner-up first time out at Redcar (6f) and Carlisle (5f) respectively. Of that pair, it's the latter who makes most appeal on the basis that she is bound to appreciate every yard of this longer trip given that she is a half-sister to the smart 7f/1m performer Kynren. Of the remainder, Ruby Red hasn't enjoyed the clearest of passages in her last two starts and may go well at a decent price.

Redcar winner Favourite Child came up short in her bid to defy a penalty at Ripon next time and again looks vulnerable. Vieux Carre, who improved to finish a runner-up in a valuable seller at York last time, is one alternative but CLODOVEA was a real eye-catcher behind her that day (kept on strongly after being short of room) and could throw up better value. Thirsk runner-up Qwicken, who should appreciate a return to a less demanding track having failed to build her debut promise at Carlisle last time, also commands respect, as would the newcomers Moon Bay and Synonymous if supported in the market.

Hard to rule anything out of this fillies' handicap but there are grounds for siding with THE FLYING GINGER, particularly if the forecast rain gets into the ground. Roger Fell's runner is only rated 3lb higher than when winning a tough York nursery in the mud last autumn and showed enough when fourth in a truly-run 1m handicap there last month to suggest there are races to be won with her off her present mark. All surfaces seem to come alike to Turandot and, though she hasn't kicked on from her Ayr maiden win, this step up 1m could induce improvement. Rising Star was outclassed in an Italian Group 2 on her final juvenile start but two earlier wins entitles her to respect on her return.

A fascinating Listed event in which the mud-loving URBAN ARTIST should prove a tough nut to crack - especially if rain gets into the ground - after looking better than ever when finishing a runner-up in a Group 3 over 1m6f at York on her reappearance last month (Inchicore in arrears).The progressive Golden Pass looked a potential pattern-class performer when producing a smart turn of foot to win a handicap at Thirsk on her reappearance and would have to be seriously considered on better ground, while the returning Queen Daenerys holds obvious claims after 'winning' a Longchamp Listed event on her final juvenile start only to lose the race after a banned substance was later discovered in her sample.

Competitive stuff but it may pay to stick with C&D winner CALL MY BLUFF, who bounced back from a poor run on Fibresand to make it four wins from his last five turf starts when scoring over 2m at Nottingham last month. Dominic Ffrench-Davis' gelding continues to pull out more when urged and a further 6lb rise may not be enough to anchor him, particularly if the ground comes up softer than good. Magna Moralia hasn't been beaten too far off this sort of mark the last twice and may improve over the longest trip he's encountered to date, while Let Me Be did just enough to make it four wins from five starts this year at Yarmouth 12 days ago and is versatile regards ground conditions.

All surfaces come alike to FURZIG, who made it two turf wins in a row when scoring over C&D earlier this month and, despite a 3lb rise, he remains one to be interested in considering his AW mark is 19lb higher. Cormier, impressive over hurdles, also arrives here on the back of a C&D success, having landed the odds on his reappearance on soft ground, though more is demanded of him now after a 6lb rise. He's A Keeper looked better than ever when scoring on the all-weather at Wolverhampton in April and may have more to offer back on turf despite a rising mark, while Sir Michael Stoute's Law of One remains low mileage and shouldn't be written off despite an underwhelming effort at Newmarket last time.

There was an abundance of money for YESYES first time out at Haydock and Ralph Beckett's filly didn't let her supporters down on the rain-softened ground, keeping on strongly to score in taking fashion. On that evidence there is plenty to come from the daughter of Camelot over this sort of trip and a novice event of this nature appears well within her range. Kings Prince also did everything asked of him when obliging at Haydock on his only juvenile start and it will be interesting how he fares in the market compared to his newcomer stablemate Dream Camelot, a 50,000gns half-brother of the Listed winner No Needs Never. Sir Michael Stoute's Blow That Horn needs to raise his game but shouldn't be written off.

The rejuvenated Mr Wagyu followed up his C&D success to score in good style at York next time but, following a further 7lb rise, a fourth win in a row may just prove beyond him. Ghathanfar is proving a model of consistency this season and remains a viable alternative, though he is creeping up in the handicap without winning, so it may pay to take a chance on the fitness of the returning ABDUCTION. Richard Fahey's son of Acclamation has been gelded since decisively winning a Wolverhampton maiden on his final juvenile start and his opening handicap mark looks workable considering he is being lined up for a possible tilt at next month's Bunbury Cup.
