SOARING STAR caught the eye when finishing fifth at this course last month on his stable debut for Philip Kirby. The four-year-old gelding is only 1lb higher than his last winning mark and he looks to have found an ideal opportunity to build on his recent performance, now having his first attempt at this longer trip. Jomont commands respect after his latest C&D success in October, but he will need to defy a 6lb rise in this higher grade, while She's No Angel also has claims returning to the all-weather.

EYES seemed to have plenty in hand when scoring by an impressive three lengths over this C&D last month. The daughter of Dandy Man was given a 6lb rise by the handicapper for that success, but that might not be enough to stop her in this contest if getting a strong pace to aim at. Whatzupwithme had excuses after he was slow to break at Wolverhampton and he could be suited by this stiffer test, while Biplane is respected back on Tapeta.

The return of Paul Mulrennan to the saddle is another plus, having won twice in three attempts on the gelding, and he is preferred to recent C&D winner Midnite Bride, who has been raised 4lb for that success.
