2.50 FIRST REVOLUTION (IRE); 5.00 KAPSIZE (FR); 6.50 SILKEN MOONLIGHT; 7.00 RED OCHRE; 8.00 ROLL OF THUNDER; 10.00 ELIXER (IRE); SALTMARKET; 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
Trainer Peter Bowen has his horses running to form and Kapsize looks sure to run a decent race with son Sean Bowen in the saddle after coming home third to Auld Sod at Ffos Las over three miles when sent off the joint-favourite. He drops back to less than two miles here and may well try to make all the running if he can get an early lead, though surely one or two of these will have too much speed for him. Rapid Raider won a point-to-point at Ballinaboola and having his third start over fences for Lucinda Russell, who won this race in 2013 and 2014, has to be of interest, but FIRST REVOLUTION looks the likeliest winner. A close-up third over C&D on his return in May, he was sent off the 11/4 favourite that day and was held up early before coming with a late run. With that race under his belt, he should prove hard to beat for the stable who took this prize when it was last run in 2019.

0.67 HOMME D'UN SOIR (FR); 2.50 THE WREKIN (IRE); 10.00 NORTHERN FALCON; 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
It is pretty difficult to see beyond the top three on the card here, with the Denise Foster-trained HOMME D'UN SOIR officially rated a stone superior to any of his rivals and seemingly hard to beat. His decent bumper form includes a win at Gowran Park and places at Wexford and Punchestown, before getting off the mark over hurdles at Down Royal at the first attempt in March. Second to Berkshire Royal and beaten 10 lengths at Kilbeggan over further last time out, he is dropped back in trip here and with a clear round ought to take home first prize. The hat-trick seeking The Wrekin is his obvious rival after wins at Ludlow and Warwick, but he has to give 4lb away to the selection and was far more impressive when winning over further last time out than when scraping home at this trip in early May, so may be better over further. Get The Facts has some interesting point-to-point form and is a tentative place suggestion.

0.80 CHAPMANSHYPE (IRE); 3.50 SEVEN DE BAUNE (FR); 4.00 SANTANA PLESSIS (FR); 7.00 ASHINGTON; 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
It's hard to oppose CHAPMANSHYPE here after his winning debut over fences at Fontwell when he saw off the odds-on Eglantine Du Seuil by close to three lengths, keeping on well over the two and a half miles. Already a decent hurdler, peaking with an official rating of 146 after winning at Kelso, he ought to maintain his unbeaten start over fences here barring any mishaps. Denise Foster's Santana Plessis has to be of interest making his chasing bow, but he was beaten 42 lengths last time out over hurdles at Punchestown and although he has winning form at Kilbeggan in a bumper and over hurdles, he needs to step up on that to get involved here. Seven De Baune wasn't disgraced last time out when third at Ludlow but he really ought to find the company too hot for him here.

Preview:
Itsnotyouitsme won very easily over course and distance last month, hacking up by 18 lengths after making all the running despite being eased close home. He has been put up 7lb for that success which seems acceptable, but all his best form has come on soft or heavy ground and he may not cope as well with the conditions expected here. Older horses are historically successful in this race and GLINGER FLAME may add to those statistics for trainer Nicky Richards. Fourth at Market Rasen off the same mark in a similar race last month, he could strip fitter for that first start since December, and as a C&D winner on good ground, his chances are there for all to see. Four runs at Hexham have seen four successes and he may well make it win number five here, with Nicky Henderson's Glynn a serious rival. Pulled up twice after a Doncaster second in December, the seven-year-old has had a wind operation since his last start and if that brings him back to form, he won't be far away.

Preview:
Both runnings of this race have been won by raiders from Ireland and Denise Foster will try to make it three with Gealach. The five-year-old won his maiden hurdle at Punchestown in December 2019, but has failed to add to that in five starts since and was last seen coming home a well-beaten ninth at Navan on the Flat. He still looks too high in the weights for now and preference is for the Nicky Henderson-trained SUNRISE RUBY. A debut bumper win at Southwell has been followed by success over hurdles at Newton Abbot and Kempton, with a close-up third of four at Ludlow at the end of March. Staying on well over 2m5f that day, she may do even better upped to this trip for the first time off 2lb lower in the handicap. All Hail Caesar was value for further after idling in front here last time out and, with a first-time visor added, he is another to throw in to the mix.

Forecast:
2.00 GAMEFACE (IRE); 2.75 FOR JIM (IRE); 4.00 DUTCH CANYON (IRE); 4.50 SHANROE STREET (IRE); 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
DUTCH CANYON took this race when it was last staged in 2019 for trainer Stuart Coltherd and is back for more this season, though he is 6lb higher in the handicap and Sam Coltherd can no longer claim 3lb from the saddle. He looked likely to score on his return to action when five lengths clear before falling at the last at Sedgefield, and as long as that tumble has not left any mark, he can go well again here despite his rise in the handicap. Gameface won over course and distance last month by close to five lengths and has been put up 7lb for that effort, but he is still a novice and fully entitled to keep on improving with experience. He did make mistakes that day and can't afford to do that in this company, but is certainly a leading contender with a clear round. Shanroe Street is another C&D winner who should go well after failing to see out the three and a half miles at Kelso.

2.50 THE DAWN MAN (IRE); 3.00 EASY BUCKS; 5.00 RACING PULSE (IRE); 7.00 HIDDEN CARGO (IRE); 10.00 TEME SPIRIT (IRE); 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
THE DAWN MAN built on a fair third at Chepstow with second place in a Ffos Las handicap chase last time and could go one better off the same mark in this. Others with claims have to prove their latest efforts were just blips, such as Racing Pulse, who was second at Kelso over a marathon trip but struggled at Carlisle last time. Easy Bucks is another for that category as he was a good third at Chepstow before pulling up at Uttoxeter latest, while Hidden Cargo made the frame here two starts ago but was less impressive at this track last time.

2.75 COOLNACRITTA (IRE); 4.00 FOLLOW YOUR FIRE (IRE); HIGHLAND GOLD; 7.00 FOR THREE (IRE); 7.50 JOIE DE VIVRE (IRE); 11.00 AND BETTER OTHERS.
Preview:
Coolnacritta returned from 16 months off the track with a win over this track and trip last time, but the handicapper has taken no chances in raising him 9lb for that so Follow Your Fire, who was beaten over four lengths into second that day, could get much closer on 7lb better terms. Highland Gold had made some eye-catching headway before falling at Ayr on his return from a lengthy absence and would be interesting with a clear round, but preference is for FOR THREE. James Ewart's charge was never at home at Cartmel last time, but his previous form at Musselburgh was strong and he could bounce back to that level here.
