Since then, he has been imperious in this division on his three outings this season, building on his return at Cork with bloodless victories at Leopardstown over Christmas and at the Dublin Racing Festival, and this appears the best chance for Willie Mullins to break his Champion Chase hoodoo. Politologue took advantage of the selection's absence and other conspiring factors to make every yard of the running 12 months ago but this will be a much tougher race to control with the likes of First Flow, who took him on at Ascot in January, and Notebook likely to push the pace along. Nube Negra claimed the scalp of Altior at Kempton over Christmas and has been kept fresh for this, while Put The Kettle On saves her best for Cheltenham and is unbeaten in three outings over C&D.
